I\'m looking for a Dentist. Anyone with any good/bad experiences? Suggestions? My last dentist (Etheridge Family Dentistry) said I had \'NATIVE\' teeth and when he filled my cracked tooth, he filed it to match his idea of a perfect tooth and didn\'t bother to make it look like mine. I\'m a pacific islander and I\'d rather be toothless in Seattle then go through him again.

We\'ve had fruitful discussions about dentists before. You might want to try putting the word \"dentist\" in the search widget box on the right hand side of this page, just below the \"West Seattle 101\" and \"Forums\" tabs.
You\'ll probably get a few more comments in this thread, but that search would be a good place to start. :)

As site owner, I\'m not going to name names in this category but did want to say the \"reader recommendations\" seem to work well -- we picked a recommended dentist from one of those threads - and I am just thrilled. We\'d bailed on another West Seattle dentist because of brusque treatment, but the practice we chose based on recommendations here turned out to be terrific ... both for me (needed first-ever \"crown\") and our 12-year-old. -- TR

I've had great fortune to have found Dr Bret Shupack at Alki Dental - http://www.alkidental.com. He is kind and very professional - I recommend him as the best dentist in West Seattle.

Dr. Lee .... Albert Lee on California... been going there for 15 years.... most of his patients are Asian and Pacific Islanders... he is great if you have a poor dental plan or none.... he takes cash...and discounts accordingly.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoy Dr.Kae and his entire staff. Jiggers, have you checked out the University of Washington Dental School? I believe they do teeth cleanings, etc ... The dental students do the work while being supervised by a professional dentist/professor. I believe the rates are fairly good. Also, not to sound like your Mom ... make sure to floss your teeth daily.

UW is done. They have cut back. Yep..I don't floss or brush my teeth and have bad breath. I found out girls like that. You look meaner.

any recommendations?Posted 8 months ago # -
Dr. Glenn Krieger. He's handing his practice over to someone else, but I'd trust anyone he does. He's amazing, and the only reason I keep up with my 6 month appointments.

Dr Naden rules. He is kind, gentle, his staff is the best and most importantly he doesn't try to rip you off by charging double like a certain other dentist does.

It’s been a while since I was on this plan, but when I did not have dental coverage through my company I was on the Smart Smile program though Washington Dental. There are only certain dentists that “subscribe” to the program, so that can limit your choices, but when I was on it Dr. Hilton Herrin was taking patients and was wonderful, although when I did a search of dentists on their website it looks like he is still listed but not currently taking new clients. I did see Dr Lee who was mentioned in a previous post, although I have never gone to him myself so cannot give a recommendation. If you need dental insurance, it’s not the best out there, but it’s better than nothing and it’s certainly affordable compared to other dental programs I have seen (for a single subscriber it’s currently $17.75 a month and for a subscriber and dependent it’s $35 month). It might be worth taking a quick look at it if you are in need of individual dental insurance.
