Has anyone had any experience with the organization called
Fuzzy Faces? From what I understand they help people keep
animals they can't afford. I am looking at it for a possible volunteer opportunity. I want to make sure they are a good, honest
organization! thanks for your help.

jenny12,
I believe you're thinkinng of "Furry Faces". Yes, they do great work. They are a good, honest orginization. They hold fundraising plant sales, sell holiday wreaths, etc. during the course of the year. You also may want to contact Pamela Brunnell, who posts here as hammerhead. See the 'kitten reality" thread here in forums. She works with feral cats and rescues the kittens to be socialized and adopted to homes. She has a monumental task and does great work. I met Pamela through a referral from Terri at Furry Faces a couple of years back. I had some time off then and had been looking for a place to volunteer. I enjoyed the experience and would do it again if I had the time.Posted 2 years ago # -
Marianne, thank you for your seal of approval!
Jenny12,
Thank you for your interest and offer of time. We would enjoy talking with you about our grass roots group. You are correct, through our 'Oliver's Fund' we help people that are financially restricted; lost their job;,etc., be able to keep their animal companions with them and out of shelters/rescue groups. And, via our 'It's Hip To Be Snipped' program, we assist people that are financially restricted; lost their job;,etc., defray the cost of neuter/spay.
We are always looking for new ideas and enhancements to our current fundraisers and outreach. Catsino is happenin' November 7th--you might find that a fun one to start with.
Please feel free to email us at furryfaces@hotmail.com Cheers, Teri

I've know both Teri at Furry Faces and Pamela for years. They both do wonderful work and either would be great folks to volunteer with. Pamela would be a lot of hands on kitten socialization, Furry Faces is more into the fundraising.
