   I have a free twin mattress (no box spring). It is about 7 years old but in really good condition (older child slept in it so no stains) It is still firm and comes from a non smoking home. Only issue is that kitty has been scratching on the ends where it is being stored for the last week in our spare room. I could probably rustle up some sheets and mattress pads too. All free. Just come and get it.

   Also I have a bunch of books that I would love to donate somewhere - cook books, teen reads, novels, school books - any ideas or takers? I want to get rid of all of them together (as opposed to someone going through and taking some)- will deliver to a good cause. Do schools still have book sales?

   The Friends of the Seattle Public Library has their annual book sale on September 24-26. They also have a table at the West Seattle Farmers Market on Sundays. I doubt that the table can accept donations of books but you could sure find out how to donate books by stopping by the table. You can also check their website http://www.friendsofspl.org for donation information.

   I donated a bunch of old books to the West Seattle Library by Admiral. Just call ahead to make sure they're still accepting them. I feel like they may have restrictions on paperbacks and romance novels, but I wasn't donating those anyway.

   My church (Tibbetts Methodist, in West Seattle) is having a book sale on September 18th and we would love your books! Please let me know if you'd like me to pick up or you are welcome to drop off. We'd really appreciate it!
