I posted an ad on craigslist before realizing I should've first just posted here. I have a number of items I'd rather not deal with selling, and if it saves me another trip to the Goodwill, I'm all for it. That said, here's a link to the ad...

    http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/zip/2658540030.html

Quick summary: Kids bikes, vacuum, childrens play gear, meat smoker -- FREE!

It's in the alley behind 42nd Ave, between Dakota and Andover, against our fence. You can take anything I've put back there (except my husband's car. don't think he'd appreciate that being gone.) and no need to come knock on the door to tell me. I'll just poke my head out every once in awhile to see what's still hanging around.

  2. Oh - I'd bet that Nicklesville could use the smoker if they get meat contributions and wanted to preserve it.

If someone wants to come get it and take it to them, it's all theirs! As of 5:30pm, the only items remaining are the meat smoker, vacuum, basketball hoop and sand/water table.

could be a good idea MargL - is it an electric smoker carrieann? i don't know much about meat smokers, so are there even any other kind of smokers? Does NV have generators? ?? I don't have mobility at the moment or I'd snag the smoker myself just in case they could use it....anybody else around that neck of the woods?

They seemed rather happy to have it, and I was happy to help. This sort of thing is what makes West Seattle rock -- all of us trying to look out for one another. (Side note, I pass by there every day before and after work, so I am more than happy to pick up/deliver donations within a reasonable distance. Gotta put the extra room in the Expedition to good use)

Awesome! Thanks so much, westcoastdeb! I'll keep the forums posted on more items as I continue cleaning out the downstairs storage and garage areas.

On that subject, I may have some XL/XXL men's clothing to donate. Will keep you posted, if you're willing to stop by the same address and pick up for delivery. I won't make you get those from the alleyway, though. ;)

Debbie: I have some blankets and men's XL/XXL shirts for you. (Some long-sleeve, cold weather ones.) Will text you, too, but pick-up after 6pm this evening should work perfectly!

Debbie, I'm assuming you live somewhere south if you go past Nicklesville. Do you ever come to the area of Fauntleroy and 35th? I have some things I've never managed to get down there. I also have a windbreaker, size 2X, and an XL sweatshirt. I'd be happy to meet you somewhere. I can't text, please email me at kld963@gmail.com.

Are you going to collect gifts for the kids for Christmas? I have several new in package items for boys that would make great Xmas gifts for the parents that cannot afford to buy anything.

If you are asking me, I certainly don't mind collecting. I do not know what NV would think about it though.
