My Tae Kwon Do club meets regularly at Hiawatha Community Center 3 times a week, but on Sundays I usually try to do an advanced workout for 1-2 of my high belt students. We used to do this at Hiawatha during their open gym times, but now due to budget cuts, all the community centers are closed on Sundays except for High Point (and they are booked solid).
My question is, is there any open community space anywhere in West Seattle that a person could go to exercise that they don't have to pay for? Does anyone know of any open school gyms or community spaces that might be available? When I lived in Illinois years ago, there was an indoor running track at the National Guard Armory that was open to the public. I am kind of surprised that there doesn't seem to be anything like that here. I just need a space until the weather gets better and then we can just train outside on Sundays during the summer.

I don't know of any city-operated spaces, but I wonder if you could just show up and practice in the deal halls of the Factoria Mall...

Any other suggestions? I hoping to find a place by Sunday. My garage is okay, but too small for what we do. There has gotta be some rec center or something around WS. If not, there should be!
