Just put this in the events calendar but noticed that while it's free, there's limited space and they're asking for registration soon. Offered by a local social worker.
Are you an unpaid family caregiver (spouse, adult child, relative, friend) who provides care for a loved one, in or outside your home? If so, you know that the demands on personal time and energy can be unrelenting, and stress is sometimes a 24-hour companion.
One of the greatest challenges of being a family caregiver is maintaining one’s own physical and emotional health.
Powerful Tools for Caregivers, a course taught nationwide, is designed to provide caregivers with tools to increase self care and give them confidence in handling difficult situations, emotions and decisions.
This class is being offered, free of charge, at the Senior Center of West Seattle, on
Tuesday afternoons, from 1-3 pm, from Jan 18th through Feb 22nd. Topics include tools invaluable to a caregiver that can reduce personal stress; help one effectively communicate feelings and needs, use community services, deal with emotions such as anger, guilt, depression, frustration, make tough caregiving decisions.
Please call soon to register, as space is limited: 206-932-4044.
