For goodness sakes ... pick up your dog's poop!

I am utterly perplexed ... why and how is it that a person is out walking with their dog and can't bring a bag to pick up the dog's poop?! Really?! Does the person think they don't need to bother themselves or that it is not their responsibilty? The audacity of some people leaves me shaking my head. I am out there picking up some other dog's poop at least ... at least once a week. Please, please ... pick up your dog's poop ... please!

I've noticed a new twist on this old problem lately. Some people bag the poop, then toss the bag to the side of the street, or into someone's shrubs. Nice touch.

Not a super-new twist, anonyme, as I've been dealing with people's poo bags in our front shrubbery for the past 6+ years. Every time I go out to rake leaves, or trim the branches, I come across all sorts of trash (soda cans, fast food cups, candy wrappers, etc.) and always at least a few blue or green plastic baggies of old animal poop. Though I suppose it's slightly better than those who choose not to bag it at all. My shoes are currently air drying after I raked leaves on Thursday, and had to scrub/hose them down from the doggy landmines I hadn't seen.

What continues to perplex me, though, are the piles I find IN our yard... which would require you to go up a set of stairs to access. Not exactly pleased with that, since we have kids who like to roll around and play. I don't own dogs, so I wouldn't think I'd have to look out for such things. Sheesh.

as a daiy dog walker, it irks me to no end to see dog poop on the sidewalk. come on people ! people walk down these sidewalks and then into their homes where babies crawl on the floor. you get the idea.
so - anytime i do see some in the name of keeping dogs with a good name, i try and pick it up. otherwise we all loose.

  5. I always pick up my dogs poop and carry it home to throw it away. Always. But I also always see other dogs poop laying around on my walks. Funny thing is I never see it actually happen, but if I did I would certainly say something. Totally irresponsible and disgusting.

Dogs noses don't stop at the property line. Your dog defecating on someone else's lawn or the easement...is a direct challenge to the resident dog. You are allowing your little "poopsie" to scent claim another dog's territory. It's an agression promoting action. Take your pet into the "street" and "curb" your dog. Irks me no end to watch your dog crap on the easement I have maintain. Curb it. Better yet.. walk it around in circles til it craps in front of your house before you preamble through the neighborhood.
