Does anyone out there know of any West Seattle-based extracurricular math programs for elementary school aged kids?

I already know that the YMCA does a little bit in that department, but is there anything else out there?

  2. We used the home school program called Singapor Math ordered the Parents/teacher guides and Student texts on line. Then we were lucky enough that our elementry school also started using this same program.

  3. Get a roulette wheel and some dice and teach them about odds. It may save them from that first trip to "Lost Wages" NV later in life.

  4. I wonder if cmadams was able to find a satisfactory answer to this question? We are also in search of a similar activity for our first grader. Thanks

  5. For basic skills practice, XtraMath was developed with help from a teacher at Roxhill in West Seattle. http://www.xtramath.org/
I just noticed their "About Us" page links to a WSB article about the teacher in the videos. :)

Khan Academy is really cool. It starts with basic concepts and builds into very complex maths.

Both sites require a parent account, and that allows you to track your child's progress without literally watching over their shoulder.
