JanSParticipantMr. Whitson…are you simply looking for an assistant to help you with your work? It really is hard to tell….what kind of work is it? Are there benefits to the job?…the “test” that you allude to in your above post looks like an ad to sell something. Is it a paid position? Part time? Full time? Hours? Could you be a bit more specific?

The Job is Part-time 20-30 hours now till we grow. $15.00 per hour the first 30-90 days, while in training, then $20.00 per hour. Hours are around 11-4. The test is a hurdle in my quest to find a talented person who can grow with the company. This is myt 20th company and I have retired 3 times. I love what I do.

JeannieParticipantHey, I took the DISC test just for fun. Turns out I’m “Dominant, Inspiring, and Cautious,” as well as:
•Directive,
•Quick-witted,
•Results-oriented, and
•Fast-paced
YAY me!
On the negative side, does that mean I’m also pushy, hyper, and a wise-acre? Actually, the results are pretty accurate.

So I took it too even though I would never apply for a job with someone who employed this POS as an employee evaluation tool. (designed to extract extra fees for a more ‘in depth’ report) ;-/
While I am berating this *test* I would like to quote a phrase from one of the very well structured questions, “When I am at an event with many people I have not yet met present”
(say what??)
Anyway, my illustrious result is:

WSBKeymasterPer your PS, Transp – depends on where you are – I was on until 4 and there were a few things happening but nothing massive. For example, somebody crashed a car at the east end of Roxbury and then the driver walked away, eventually caught (per scanner) in South Park. There also was some concern over a guy at the Roxhill Park bus stop, and later a guy reported to be yelling at passing cars near the Junction QFC.

charlabobParticipantHmmmmm….I’m balanced between dominant, inspiring, and cautious — the description fits and I tried very hard not to try to game the system.
WRT to using this test as part of the pre-interview process, I can’t imagine NOT using it. If Whitson has a tool he wants to sell, one would hope he believes in it …. and if he does, why wouldn’t he use it. (Note the careful avoidance of honorifics, to avoid deciding between Dr. and Mr. a journalism school trick that is still useful.)
Since the only thing missing from my profile is supportiveness, I won’t be applying for the job :-)
