We are considering having an estate sale in conjunction with a home ownership change. Too many things and not enough room to keep them. Does anyone have any experience with companies that come in, organize, and help run an estate sale? Some advice on their fees and how they charge for their services would be helpful as well.

No experience with a company, but when my father-in-law died and we sold his house in another state, we had a friend who lived near there place an ad in the paper and post signs and agree to be there one weekend and offered him 30% of profits on whatever he sold; 40 if he took what didn't sell to the dump/recycle/goodwill. We just told him what not to sell (put blue tape on it to mark it) and folks came by and bought stuff.

It was win/win as we couldn't commit to staying there for a period of time to sell things, and he got some cash that was an amount he wanted.
