Hey, I saw this message in Chalk on California Avenue this evening that said "stop dealing drugs here." Has anyone seen anything of this sort taking place in the gatewood neighborhood? I haven't seen anything too sketchy here, but this kinda creeped me out.

Noticed a sketchy house some months back in the south end of the Morgan Junction stretch of Calif SW; have seen police attend to it. As for currently ... Gatewood would be further up the hill - where did you see this message?

What's the empty overgrown lot next to 5415 California avenue? They have a bunch of homeless suticases and rubbish next to the honey buckets. Swing to the right of ETC on the street view map.Gross.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I know exactly which house you're referring to, LowmanBeach. I've also seen some odd activity on the east side of California just north of Mills. Frequently I'll see a group of older teenage guys just grouped around there, generally around dusk. They kind of scatter a bit when they see someone coming, and they look nervous.
There's definitely dealing going on around here; whether it's just pot or something more nefarious, I don't know.Posted 2 years ago # -
@SarahScoot: I know which house you're talking about. Those residents have moved and I'm hoping they've taken their activity with them.

I think I knew of that house too, but it has been awhile since I noticed the activity, so I am glad to hear they moved too.

The people that trashed the house on the West side
of Cal. ave just about 3 blocks south of Morgan Junction have done it to every house they've been in. Latest I've heard is that they've moved to a Apartment or House on Avalon not far from 35th.
Watch for trouble soon.Posted 2 years ago # -
Dunno-
How do you know they moved to 35th & Avalon?
Curious, as I live in that neighborhood. Would like to be on the look out. Is there any more detail you can share?Posted 2 years ago # -
Lucy,
SPD knows who these people are. They are in section 8 housing and have torn up every home they've lived in. I know names but would rather leave this to contacting SPD. Sorry about alarming you but better to be aware. BTW, you can see the home they were in on the West side
of California Ave about the 6500-6600 block, about a block or so south of McDonalds.Posted 2 years ago # -

Here's the story of a meth head family, that was living on California Ave...all of them had matted hair just like their mother(s)...the youngest one stole pearls.
Until one day when the WSPD intervened, and they realized that it was much more than a simple bust.
That the prosecuting attorneys would release them within hours that's when they decided to just give up...
The Cali Bunch, the Cali Bunch...that's the way they all became the Cali Bunch.

Very funny until your rental is destroyed to the tune of 10's of thousand by them, or ripped off, or beat up by these thugs!

Where are they? I live on Concord St. just west of 35th. Can you let me know where? I'd like to check out the house. What is Matted hair? Curly?

J,
You should go to the next WS crime meeting and ask
in private about the house in question and where they've moved to. The info I've put on here is from direct contact. Detectives at SW precint know the parties involved and those worried about
drug dealing should attend. Sorry this post became a bit of a joke because the impact on many lives is not!Posted 2 years ago # -
There is so much drug dealing and unsavory characters that are transplants in WS. The question is are you doing anything about it? We are fortunate to have a precinct now on Delridge. do as my neighbors and I did, we got sick of it when after 10 years we noticed drug dealing i nour cul de sac not to mention what looked like prostitutes in the area where our children played. we had meetings with SPD and their ANTI CRIME TEAM took swift action and were able to make several arrests, involved the city attorney eetc. I'm happy to say our neighborhood is back to the way it was and the reason we choose to live there. We still keep a close eye out for anyone that we are not familar with. I highly recommend that you get involved and form a partnership with SPD. Send an email to the Mayor and the Chief they will take action.
