Driving this evening?

  1. How are the roads looking? Friend asking for pick up at Harborview at 8pm. Safe to go?

Can't speak to the WS bridge, but things seem to be getting on the icy side, so unless you have all wheel drive or 4 wheel drive, I'd think not.
We've been in a 4X4 all day without much problem but an hour ago the sleet was freezing on the windows and mirrors of the truck.

  4. Yikes! Can anyone else confirm this? Kinda late to tell them I'm not coming now. Definitely don't have 4wd.

Careful up the icey ramp. Looks like bridge has been recently plowed. Take it slow and you've got it

Note: done w 4wd expedition in 2 wd with not so great tires.

Ramps on and off are a little dicey though.

Avoid michigan st off ramp. Had to re-discover 4wd there.

Back up the hill we go - past nv where my heart breaks - have a great night and safe travels

But first, highland park way hill - slick. Just got passed by someone doing 40+. Its plowed but icing over. We made it up in 2 wheel. Same with highland park way at the top of the hill. Gets worse as you approach 16th.

  11. I made it up HP Way at around 10:30 in an AWD with no trouble. So did the sedan ahead of me. But there were some very prominent weaving tire tracks--somebody was either having a hard time or a lot of fun going up that hill.
