Hi! We are doing some spring cleaning and have managed to find ourselves with a garage full of items to donate. These items range from kitchen dishes, bar stools, to clothing. There is easily 15 to 20 boxes. Does anyone know who will come to our house and pick it up? How long does it take to schedule the pick up etc?

Two places we've had pick up stuff are
Northwest Center
http://www.nwcenter.org/How-DonateWhat.asp
and Community Services for the Blind
http://www.csbps.com/donate/index.html
I think you can schedule pick ups online for both.
They used to call us regularly so if you donate to either make sure you ask not to be on their call-back list or they will call you looking for more donations every month :-)Posted 2 years ago # -
Tibbetts UMC in West Seattle is having their famous twice-a-year rummage sale in March and is gratefully accepting donations now. Please contact the church office at 932-7777 M-Th between 9am & 2pm and we can arrange for a pick up. We cannot accept computers, TVs or matresses but other items are most welcome & these sales support the WS Community. Thanks!

Please let us know the dates/times of the Tibbets rummage sale!!I've missed the last two and want to be sure to get to this one.
Are the church rummages sales posted anywhere on this blog that I've missed??I seem to miss all the good ones lately. I do love me a good rummage sale.:)Posted 2 years ago # -
Great! We usually make sure it's in the Events section of the WS Blog. Meantime, it's Fri 3/12 from 9am - 4pm and Sat 3/13 from 9am - 3pm. Here's our website:

It'll be on the page now that I'm seeing this advance notice - if anyone has e-mailed us about it sooner, I missed it.
Oh, and speaking of rummage sales, WEST SEATTLE COMMUNITY GARAGE SALE DAY!!!! (coordinated by us, after its founders turned it over a few years back) is coming up May 8th. Too late for some of your timetables but save the date!

Thanks! We love doing it... it's been nearly 50 years since we've been at it and still fun & good for all. They are always the 2nd Fri & Sat in March and again in October. Hope to see you there!

BDG - consider checking with Alki UCC. They work with families who are starting over and need EVERYTHING. It might feel good to help a family so in need and someone from the church could probably pick up your items.

You could also check with Our Lady of Guadalupe as they assist with St. Vincent De Paul to assist those who need items.
