This week I've been in two different WS eating establishments where a dog was welcome in the kitchen. Not sure how I feel about it. On one hand, my dogs were always allowed in my kitchen. But on the other hand, it's kind of gross.

Dogs in the kitchen?

They were in the kitchen but were they on the menu? In Europe dogs are welcome in many restaurants and it doesn't seem to be a big deal. Never bothered me. Not sure about the kitchen, though. Perhaps they brought the dogs in to catch the cats that they brought in to catch the rats that they brought in to catch the frogs that they brought in to catch the spiders that they brought in to catch the fly. I don't know why they brought in a fly. . . . .perhaps we'll die. I love the Beveridge Place Pub BECAUSE they allow dogs (they don't have a kitchen).

Well, this is an interesting twist on the tired old "dogs in bars" topic that keeps popping up! However one might feel about the dogs in Beveridge Place Pub, can we all agree that dogs have no place in a restaurant's kitchen?

Were these fast food establishments?

Ugh, cats on the table! NOTHING is more disgusting than that. They dig through the litter box with those paws!
By the way, you can tell just by looking that picture is Photoshopped. There's no way a glass of red wine could remain upright in proximity to so many dogs.

It is kinda gross and illegal. http://blog.seattlepi.com/seattle911/2010/11/02/is-it-legal-to-bring-dogs-into-a-bar-or-restaurant/
But we all know how some dog owners feel about following silly rulez.
Not much you can do except maybe take a picture "Oh what a pretty dog, is he supposed to be in here?" and politely suggest to the owner they don't allow dogs in the kitchen. Never know when an inspector might show up...

One might also wonder which other parts of the health code the restauranteur chooses to disregard. Perhaps it could be taken as a clear sign to dine elsewhere.

Maybe they were not dogs, just very big cockroaches. . . . .

you can keep dogs out of the kitchen?
would someone please share that secret with me?
as i type one of mine is letting me know in no uncertain terms that the kitchen is full of tasty little edible bits...tabpsslcpooassb
i don't mean to pry.. but what were you doing in the kitchen?
i think the same rules that are supposed to prevent dogs from being in commercial kitchens..
unless of course they are service dogs that are allowed anyplace their people projects are allowed...
also bans customers.Posted 1 year ago # -
Can I feed the troll the same thing I feed my dog, who is at this moment lying at my feet in the kitchen?

hopey...
it looks like you can feed the troll tabpsslcpooassb
if you can catch them
they have faded off into anonymity...i have my suspicions... ;(
but i wouldn't feed tabpsslcpooassb to your dog
i fear tabpsslcpooassb is indigestiblePosted 1 year ago # -
Now the OP is named "Anonymous." Might be a bit confusing for folks that read repeated references to "tabpsslcpooassb." Just pointing out that tabpsslcpooassb was the original poster. . . . I guess with an uncommon name like tabpsslcpooassb it would be pretty easy to deduce their true identity.

Mine does not really go in the kitchen...he knows it is not his territory...his food come from his bowl or from us in a non-kitchen experience. He is pretty good about not begging too. Pets in general are not allowed in food/drink establishments...unless they are assist animals like at Beveridge Place Pub.

dogs in the kitchen ARE Grosse! And they are not helpful at all. Unless you drop some food..then they will clean the floor for you. What you really need in the kitchen is a Chupacabra! They are quite helpful and make a mean omlette. Mine will even do the dishes if I let him watch 'Biggest Loser' afterwards (he is a sucker for Jillian.)

did you have to work very hard to get your Chupacabra to do dishes?
i have tried to train the dogs but haven't gotten past pre-cleaning :(
though they are conscientious pre-cleanersPosted 1 year ago # -
dogs don't have opposable thumbs..Chupacabras do. So I am afraid you are only limited to the pre-cleaning feature in the dog. But it's still a good thing to get that stuff off there before it gets dried on and becomes impossible to get off. So yah...we found another use for the dog in the kitchen. Lay all your dishes on the floor before loading them into the dishwasher and watch the doggie go to work.

AlkiCabCompany...
my dogs are glad to pre-clean for the dishwasher..
but only if i hold the plates at a comfortable height for them :(is it possible i have spoiled my dogs and will never be able to get any useful work out of them...
other than pre-cleaning dishes
and catching critters
and chasing off bad guys?oh..
and alerting me to seizures and other attention breaks
and reminding me when it is time to eat and take meds
and booting me out of bed before noon?
and letting me know when someone is at the door or in the yard or ...
and telling me when hubby is home...and comforting me when i feel too much sorrow
this is going to turn out like the housework list isn't it?
the more you think about it the longer it getsmaybe i should give them a pass on loading the dishwasher...
that's what husbands are for ;->Posted 1 year ago # -
yer husband loads the dishwasher? My husband doesn't even know we have one!

I love dog's, but I would rather not have them in a restaurant where I eat, in the restaurant's kitchen where the food is prepared, or in a grocery cart where I place food I'm going to purchase, just leave them home. They are not children.

I love you guys, especially the creative diversions.
BTW, as a long-time cat person, I can assure you that when someone says, "They never do that...I don't know what's gotten into them" when their cat grazes on a table or countertop -- they are NOT telling the truth. Cats are inherently sneaky. (That's why I love them.) So are most of their owners. (We don't mean to be -- the cats just bring it out in us.)
Besides, do you really believe there's a cat behavior only displayed in front of strangers?
This is satire, with only a grain of truth, so please -- no lectures! :-0

100% correct Charl! My late lamented Louis NEVER got on to the kitchen counter after a couple of years of intensive squirt-bottle training. The paw prints that would magically appear on the counters when I returned home must have fallen from the sky. Certainly wasn't old Mr. Innocent!
--
I now just about have Moxie trained so he also doesn't get on the counters when I am around.
I always clean before I cook.

About the OP, the ONLY animals that belong in a commercial kitchen are human animals, and carcasses of delicious dead animals in various stages of break-down.Posted 1 year ago #
