  1. Not Local I know but very important for those pet owners who feed their pets a certain type of food.

Proctor and Gamble has bought out Natura brand foods they make Inovva and California Natural. The change in this food will happen. I don't know how to attach the link.

I know there was a forum on this too again I can't find it.

This is huge and very sad news for pet owners.

This is very bad news for the Natura food lines. After P and G bought Iams years back the food just got worse and worse. Today it is on my do not feed list.

I'm very sad since I consider Evo one of the best foods out there and often recommend it to clients:-(

For those who don't know P and G is also at the top of the list for cruel animal testing for their other products. So that alone is a reason not to buy anything owned by them

Castor & Pollux Organix is a wonderful alternative for those who need one. The furkids love the taste, and it's full of good stuff, no crap. It's also 100% grain free, making it safe for my wheat and corn-allergic little monster.

Someone (I'll mention it next time I'm in) will have to let Next to Nature know, since they carry those lines. They always have such good kitty kat options, so maybe they can replace with some others.

  6. The Orijen/Acana line is a good dry food alternative to the Evo/Innova line. There are many good wet food alternatives. My guess is that most of the local stores will stop carrying the Natura foods including Next To Nature. They are usually right up on all the buy outs.

  7. I really like the Wellness brand cat foods. I don't use grain-free foods, but they do have some for those who prefer it.

  8. The Natural Pet Pantry in Burien, all made fresh there. Both raw and cooked diets.

They will custom make meals for you.

    Locally owned and operated.

  9. Ooh, thanks for the resource JimmyG. I did not know about that place.

I normally feed my dogs a raw diet, but when I do use kibble, I love Nature's Variety Instinct line. It's the only kibble I've tried that doesn't irritate their skin or stomach.

  10. I checked in with Next To Nature today and they will stop carrying the Natura line after the sale with P and G closes. They were also disappointed in the company selling out:-(

Seconding the recommendation for Orijen. If Pet Pros is out of Castor & Pollux, we go with the Origen. It's a great option.

For wet food, try "Spot's Stew" - available at all the local pet food places. My kids LOVE it, and it's all natural as well. Not cheap, but it doesn't have any filler, so their bellies stay full longer, costing you less in the long run. There's also a recipe for it on the brand website so you can make your own: http://www.halopets.com/resources/homemade-pet-food-recipes.html

That is awful!! :( It took me forever to find grain/corn free dog food that my dogs will eat. Grr... any other recommendations? They were eating EVO red meat (by Innova).

  14. We get all our beast food supply from A Dog's Dream in Georgetown. The gal who owns it let us know of the change when she heard about it (and was pretty upset herself). I think they're going to stop carrying it as well. Sounds like she's going to start carrying something called Petcurean as a replacement. Nice friendly shop close by and all natural stuff. Despite the name, they cover cat stuff and others as well.
