it's got a nice private hot tub, with a great view. it's not too far away, but you feel like you are. rent the "big house" - Tell Jim that Jennifer recommended you.

  4. whoops. just talked to the owner and they've sold the property, dang it all. Big Red, I have always had excellent luck cruising craigslist for vacation rentals. You can even put "mountain" in the search box and that will help narrow it down. best of luck in your search! new years in the mountains sounds lovely.

I suggest Eco Park Resorts. http://www.ecoparkresort.com/lodging.htm
They are the only company providing overnight accommodations inside the Mt. St. Helens Blast Zone. ECO PARK provides the closest accommodations to the mountain along the Spirit Lake Highway, Washington SR 504. The owners, Mark and Dawn Smith, are wonderful people. The 14x18' authentic log cabins are equipped for 2-4 guests and come complete with bottled water, bio soap, bedding, towels, propane lights & heat, and a pond view from the back porch swing. Our school group was lead on a hike by Mark to see where the hwy was covered by the mud flows and see the very top of a house sinking in it. Amazing experience; fun for the whole family! Enjoy!
