A sweet, medium-sized, male, brown and white pitbull mix just showed up on our porch in the Gatewood neighborhood (37th and Southern). We have him in our house right now, but he really wants to find his owner. Please call 541.914.1485 if he's yours or if you have any information about his owners.

    Thanks!

  2. South seattle vet is open now, so you can take it there to check for a chip.

Sadly you will have to take it back home with you for the night. Sadly collars fall off. Seattle animal control will come pick it up tomorrow. I believe their call center opens at 8am tomorrow.

Thanks for the help! We'll either take him to South Seattle Vet or wait until morning and take him to a local vet. But I'm hoping we don't have to turn him over to animal control.

  4. There is nothing wrong with animal control. They are fine.

I am just going to put it out there. It has become known that Burien residents are taking their animals and dumping them in other areas. FYI.

I live in Burien and I am dealing with this and seeing it too. Please just note that it very well could be a "dump".

So to be honest it really is better as Seattle Animal Control.

We took him to South Seattle Vet at your suggestion and the microchip scan was successful--we just reunited him with his owner! Thanks for your help!

    Great news!

It's important to have a collar and current id tag on your pets, as well as a microchip should the collar fall off. Per national experts and research, including Vet Schools, the number one way pets are reunited with their people is the visual ID tag.

    Tag and microchip your pets.

  7. That is great.

More than anything thanks for taking in a pitmix and caring.
