DANG TRAINS!

Heard the damn trains all night last night! I was sleeping (sort of) inside, near Admiral. I recall people who live closer to the noise going to talk with the city about it. Did anything come of that?

I heard them, too, about 3-4 this morning. Are they the trains that run on Alaskan Way and 4th Avenue? Long way for sound to carry. I remember hearing trains when I was a kid at our house close to WS High School. Not really that loud but surprised that something that far away could be heard at all.

I swear I heard them all night long. I can understand blowing the horn for safety but does it have to be so loud that it can be heard 5 miles away in the dead of night, all night? If I heard it then there are 10, 000 + more residents that heard it too in the surrounding area. Just seems a little extreme to me.

  5. I posted a complaint about the same thing about a month ago. For some reason they seem to really ramp up on Sunday nights. When I drove over the bridge a few days ago, I noticed some construction/activity on the tracks close to Active Space, I wonder if there is a special project going on that creates these spikes in train noise? It seemed really normal for the past month and then last night it was same escalated horn sounding over and over.

  6. They woke me up last night. Windows closed. 35th and Morgan area. Sounded like one train would sound and another would answer back. Like some kind of contest. It was incredible - and not in a good way. There's not much traffic in the area at that time of night/morning, certainly nothing to justify it.
