WSBKeymasterWe published a call over the weekend for donations of warm clothes etc. for the Vietnamese Cultural Center in West Seattle to take to an encampment they will be visiting with food, clothing, haircuts, flu shots on Thanksgiving. (In years past they visited the former encampment at W. Marginal/Highland Park Way, I believe they’re going to one on Dearborn that is related.) You could also try calling them if you want to connect with locals who are helping. 206-779 6875
Also, warm clothing/blankets/etc. are requested by the organizers of the Hall at Fauntleroy free dinner noon-3 pm Thursday, so that guests in need can avail themselves. (All are welcome to the dinner whether in need or not, but they also organize donated items so those who are, won’t go home empty-handed afterward.) – TR

LStephensParticipantYou can also donate them to the VA or the VFW to soldiers who are in wheelchairs. My Mom can’t stop crocheting and she makes lap blankets for soldiers.

JoBParticipantmy suggestion would be to donate them to an organization with indoor shelters..
crocheted blankets become a wet and soggy mess that is soon abandoned by people who don’t have easy access to washing machines and dryers.

jissyParticipantDepending on how big (or little) they are, you can donate to Children’s hospital, depending on the emergency, some families don’t have time to go home and get their child’s comfort item, or sometimes babies arrive too early to even have their gear available.
