    So, why do you think Mel Martinez is going to leave the Senate. Do you think it has anyting to do with the way the Repulicans treated Sotomayor? I think it does.

    I'm afraid the wise Latina won't be much of an overlord until we replace the right wing judicial activists who currently rule the court.

    I'd say that Martinez, being the only Republican Hispanic in the Senate, could have timed his announcement to be a little more removed in time from Sotomayor's confirmation if he didn't want to give that impression.

    The GOP has been talking about how good they are for Latinos for many years now; I think Martinez has seen that their promises are hollow.
