Comcast Internet really slow?

    Have any of you noticed a significant slowdown in comcast internet this evening? I'm consistently getting near 800ms pings, and am only seeing 500k down! I'm in north seaview. I've tried rebooting my cable modem and router to no avail.

    Ugh, most recent test was 1780ms ping, 209k down, 740k up! Ugly!

    Try speedtest.net and you can run the test for free and see the summary of your results.

    @LiasM, like Luckymom30 said, those numbers are a way of quantifying the speed of your internet connection. Comcast in our area advertises 12 Mbps down (Mega Bits Per Second), but the numbers I was seeing on Sunday were 200 Kbps (Kilo bits per second), so about 60 times slower than what they advertise!

    @Jack, my speeds are back to normal now, are you just now noticing slowdows? Where are you located?

    I was having huge problems yesterday and last night here in the Admiral Dist., but today seems better. I wonder what is going on?

  10. I've been having trouble accessing Netflix On Demand via my Tivo; my internet service (and thus the Netflix service) comes via Comcast. Not sure if it's related.

    After calling customer service for all three potential problem spots (Netflix, Tivo, Comcast) they all blame the other guy!
