Clothing Needed at Nickelsville (Children's and Adult)

  1. We just had two families move in, and here are their needs:

The first family has a son age 12 that takes size 30/31 in men's jeans, large shirts and T-shirts. Dad is the same size, so maybe a few extras.

Next, an 11 year old girl, that needs women's pants/jeans, small women's shirts, and women's size 7 shoes.

Next, 10 year old girl whose needs are about the same as the 11 y.o. except she wears size 13 1/2 children's shoes.

Next, a 7 year old boy who needs shirts and pants/jeans.

Mom also needs size 6 women's shoes.

The next family has two kids, boy around ten, I believe, and girl around 14.

The boy needs pants size 12 regular, and a belt.
The girl needs pants size 10 regular, and a belt. Both have plenty of shirts.

As far as other kid's needs; I'm not sure of any, but perhaps age appropriate games/puzzles/coloring books etc, to help pass the time, and pencils n the and crayons to use on the above.

And, what the heck, how about bubble wands and bubble juice? Even the grown-ups are sure to have fun with that!

As far as adult clothing needs:

    34" waist jeans/pants, (I suppose average length)
    And men's boots/shoes in sizes such as 9, 9 1/2, 10, 10 1/2.

Also Richard wanted me to mention that we could use more pallets.

    Thanks!
    Mike

I'm leaving for the camp between 9-9:30; if you want to drop off something at my house, I'll deliver -- I'm in North Admiral.

The bags I have this time are donated by my clients and I asked that they be clean. I have not and will not be inspecting them. I will let you decide if the clothes you have are functional. The people at NV are thankful for any help. I will be more than willing to transport. You can E-mail me NailsByJan@comcast.net

Is there a current need? We are going to the thriftstore next week and can pick up some items.

  14. I think that it's been posted that there are no families with children at the camp presently. Mike? Is that true?

  15. guidosmom...

there is a current need for women's plus size clothing... in all sizes but especially the larger sizes. undergarments, pants, tops, t-shirts

i have been thinking of doing a thrift shop run myself.

as of last night i think there were children visiting parents who live in the camp but no children residing in the camp.

that could have changed overnight if someone has donated tents and bedding to accommodate them.

the last family i heard about was turned away for lack of a place to house them.

  17. Thanks for the update, JoB - I've got a growing pile of plus-size womens clothing to give away and wondered if there was any need for it there. I'll have to gather it all up and bring it over.

  20. About to clean closet ... men's clothing. Where can I drop off?

  21. Hi shed22.

NV is at 7116 West Marginal Way SW. It's at the southeast corner of W Marg and Highland Park Way SW (bottom of the big hill.)

There's a parking lot out front, and the Security Desk is just over the berm, under the big blue tarp, on the right hand side. If you have more than what can be carried in in one trip, there's always people around to help carry donations in.

    Thanks everyone!

    Mike
