classes about anti-inflammatory diet?

Earlier this year I saw a flyer that Kathy Abascal* was going to teach a class about eating anti-inflammatory foods in West Seattle -- I called too late and it was full.

Has anyone seen or heard if she will teach another one, either in WS or on Vashon? Did you attend her classes and done well with the info? Not sure to find her as I didn't see contact information on her blog.

  4. hsncv, have you taken the class? If so, I'm curious what you thought about it. There's one starting up April 18th in West Seattle that I signed up for.

  6. It's been in our events calendar a while - her listing this time is a lot shorter than the previous ones, though.

  7. ensignmarvin, I said the exact same thing about giving it to myself for my birthday! LOL! If you're going to the one at the Kenney, I guess we'll get to meet and celebrate our birthday together. :)

  8. Hi Sue and ensignmarvin,

Yes, I have taken Kathy's class and have been on the plan. For full disclosure I should also mention that I am Kathy's sister, so I pretty much live the Abascal TQI Diet plan, with occasional exceptions. I help Kathy with check in at classes, so I have sat in on her classes many times and I continue to be amazed that I never get bored or tired of listening and watching the slide shows...there is always some new perspective that I didn't catch before, and students often comment that there is so much information to absorb and there are quite a few students who have taken the class multiple times. If you would like me to put you in touch with someone unrelated to Kathy that has taken the class and get their take on it, you can email me and I will put you in touch with a student. My email address is admin@toquietinflammation.com
I think this class is a great birthday present!

PCC is also offering a similar class right now: http://www.pccnaturalmarkets.com/pcccooks/classes/detail.php?id=1371

  10. The PCC class does sound like a great complement to Kathy's class, as it could help with cooking ideas...very different class though.

  11. Just signed up! I'll see you there, too!! And, my birthday was yesterday, so it's my present to myself also. Thanks for a great idea.
