ronmerlinMemberTwo thumbs up on the restaurant Chopstix in West Seattle. Went on opening day yesterday (yeah, thought twice about it) and
the food was excellent.
Top notch Chinese.

SueParticipantI forgot they were opening yesterday – was trying to decide where to go for dinner and totally forgot. Looking forward to trying it!

trueblueMemberWe wanted to order take out from them but since their website was down and we didn’t know their menu, and we didn’t want to bother them by asking a lot of questions on what was hopefully a very busy day for them, we decided to wait a bit. We will try to get down there next week to try them out and grab a to go menu so we can get it delivered on the next trip if we are in their area.
I’m curious to hear everyone’s experience that have already tried them out.

kDycuMemberI got a copy of the menu in my Valpak today. (Along with coupons!) Since their website is down, I went ahead and took photos with my cell and uploaded it to imgur here: http://imgur.com/a/kEBPG

SueParticipantThank you, kDycu! Looking it over though, unless I’m missing something, the only vegetarian item on the menu seems to be one thing on the lunch menu. If anyone has been there, did you happen to notice anything else vegetarian on the menu?
April 3, 2013 at 8:55 pm #787369
JanSParticipantthanks, kDycu

jerkstoreMemberThankyou kDycu!!

anonymeParticipantSue, I’m wondering the same thing. Usually, Chinese restaurants have sections for meat, poultry, vegetables, noodles, etc. Not seeing that here, and I’m dying for MaPo tofu & Szechuan green beans!
April 3, 2013 at 10:27 pm #787372
SueParticipantI’m hoping it’s just a sample menu that they put in the coupon pack, anonyme and there are more options in general (not just vegetarian). I’m going to be passing there tonight, so I’ll try and remember to pick up a menu, or at least look at the one they have there if they don’t have to-go menus yet.
April 4, 2013 at 12:08 am #787373
BonnieParticipantHuh? I got my ValPak today too and looked all through it and couldn’t find the menu.
April 4, 2013 at 12:41 am #787374
miwsParticipantBonnie, I didn’t get the menu either.
I’m in Highland Park, and being around three miles or so from Chopstix, perhaps out of their target area?

kayoParticipantI didn’t get the menu in my Valpak either and live in North Delridge.
April 4, 2013 at 1:52 am #787376
dapuffinParticipantAnonyme – is there anywhere around here that does MaPo tofu? Salivating just thinking about it….
April 4, 2013 at 3:44 am #787377
SueParticipantJust got from Chopstix. Very busy – almost every table full and a number of people waiting for takeout.
For those asking, the takeout menu lists Ma Po Tofu, but it lists it under Pork. However, the TV screen menu above the register lists it under vegetarian. I asked about it, and they said that it’s historically a pork dish, and they can make it vegetarian if you want. He seemed surprised that it was under Pork on the takeout menu. So my suggestion is that if you order it (not wanting meat) that you just doublecheck that it is vegetarian. All I ordered was the vegetarian egg rolls and they were very good.
I got the abbreviated menu/coupons in the Valpak, but I live less than a mile away.
Hopefully this works, but I uploaded photos of the full menu, and this link should take you there: http://is.gd/6IAq80

datamuseParticipantAnyone who’s been there happen to know how late they’re open?
April 4, 2013 at 5:09 am #787379
SueParticipantThe menu I posted above shows their hours as 11 to 10.
April 4, 2013 at 2:21 pm #787380
datamuseParticipantThanks, Sue. I looked there but didn’t see it…must’ve missed it.
April 4, 2013 at 2:27 pm #787381
BonnieParticipantI live about 2 miles away but I am in the SAME ZIP CODE! 98136. You’d think if I was in the same zip code I’d get the coupon.
April 4, 2013 at 3:17 pm #787382
anonymeParticipantdapuffin, not around here that I know of. Judy Fu’s out in Maple Leaf has it, and I was told that the Szechuan Restaurant (both name and description) in the complex at 10th & Jackson in the I.D. had MaPo tofu. However, I went looking for that restaurant a few weeks ago and could not find it. Think I’ll head up to Chopstix and check it out…see you there!
April 4, 2013 at 4:05 pm #787383
GinaParticipantI didn’t get the menu in my val-pak, South Admiral, North Charlestown.
April 4, 2013 at 6:15 pm #787384
kDycuMemberSue, thanks for the better copy of the menu! Will be ordering today, excited to try it!
April 4, 2013 at 6:30 pm #787385
mannamcParticipantHi Sue, do you mind if I add the photos to http://wstogo.wordpress.com until I get a chance to grab a menu to scan?
April 4, 2013 at 6:45 pm #787386
SueParticipantBe my guest, mannamc – I was going to get in touch with you to do just that. If, for some reason, it doesn’t let you download them, let me know and I can email them to you.
April 4, 2013 at 7:18 pm #787387
B-squaredParticipantThose who didn’t get the coupon can always go to the Valpak website and get it. I put in 98136 and it came up
http://www.valpak.com/coupons/printable/CHOPSTIX/72593?slugId=1193065
If you click on “See Print Mailer Offer”, the menu will come up.
