My 2 1/2 year old niece was admitted to the Pediatric ICU yesterday because of seizures. She has never had any before and is currently in a medicinal coma. Her name is Shaylee Quinn Wright and needs ALL the love and thoughts that can be generated. It looks like she will be spending Christmas in the PICU. Please help by sending her love and healing thoughts. Thank you!

Just did. How hard for the family.
Also, one of my friends has a child with newly diagnosed epilepsy, and is connecting with other parents facing the same diagnosis. PM me if you would later like her email.

GN - Peace and healing to Shaylee, you, and your whole family. Hang on, and let us know if there is anything the family needs: a warm meal, care for pets at home, etc. We're all here.

Shaylee is here in Seattle and my astounding husband has been driving his brother from home to the hospital and back home. My sister in law has stayed at the hospital this entire time, holding vigil. Shaylee is being monitored 24 hours a day via EEG and is stable. We have no other news at this time. Thank you to all who have added her name to your prayers and thoughts! I have showed this thread to the family and it brings them comfort.

Shaylee has been put in a medically induced coma and will remain so until the next week. She is hooked up to just about every device possible and is on anti seizure meds, three antibiotics and is being fed by NG tube. The doctors and nurses at Swedish are amazing and are doing their best to figure out why Shaylee has been having seizures in the first place. She continues to have seizures, only known to us because of the video EEG. There are currently no answers to our many questions, but she is stable, which is a blessing in itself! Thanks again for all the well wishes. The outpouring of love and support has meant a lot to her parents. We will be starting a caringbridge website for her and I will post the address later for anyone who is interested in tracking her progress. For those of you who have experienced this, her parents would love to talk to you when they are beyond the survival mode they are currently living in. Words can't possibly express how much this thread has meant to the family. Thank you and many blessings to you all!

Sending up prayers for Shaylee...

To All:
Our family has been friends with the Wrights since before Shaylee's birth and we want to help them in this time of need. We would like to know how to set up a fund at Bank of America for them. I know that her mother's sick leave and vacation has run out and the bills keep coming. As Shaylee is in the pediatric ICU you know that insurance isn't going to last forever. If you have any information on how to set up a fund or if you would like to donate please post the information and one of Shaylee's friends will get back to you.Posted 3 years ago # -
Garden I had it backwards in my PM. My dad currently works at Swedish as an EEG tech.
If you or your husband see Kelly Hauk, say hello. :]
And I still have Shaylee in my thoughts.

yiayia...
i think you just walk in and ask to do it... i suspect you have to start with a small deposit.
if you create the account and let us all know i will bet that money will find it's way there.
we have generous hearts here.

YiaYia,
A friend and co-worker is starting up a collection. I'll give you, Nico or Maria the info if you would like to contribute. Making Christmas dinner for them was a great help and very kind too!

An account has now been established to help Shaylee's family pay for the month plus she has been in the PICU, and remains until she can be properly diagnosed and treated. She has had several MRI's, CT scans, PET scan, SPECT scan, lumbar punctures, EEGs and video EEG. She has an upcoming muscle biopsy and brain surgery. The cost of her care is extraordinary and will be difficult to afford. Contributions can be made at any Bank of America branch in the name of Shaylee Wright Fundraiser. Thank you for your thoughts and outpouring of love and support to the family in this difficult time!

i pray they find answers soon...
somehow money just isn't enough.

My Daughter Shaylee is still at Swedish Hospital in the Pediatric ICU. She is having brain surgery and a muscle biopsy on Tuesday Jan 27th. We could use all the prayers and healing thoughts we could get. It has been a rough long road but she is still having 5-15 seizures a day even thought she is on 3 anti seizure meds. The staff and Providers at Swedish have been great. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. If you want to see about Shaylee's progress you can go to caringbridge.org and put in shayleewright all one word and you can keep up to date with her progress. Thanks again for all the love and support out there.
