celeste17ParticipantJust had a sales person from clink come to my house and offer their fiber optic TV, Internet and home phone for a bundled price. Yes it was lower then i am paying now to comcast and he said I needed to take the deal now as it might not be there in a week or so and that I could think about it and do my research but he needed to get me scheduled now. I kept saying no I need to think about it and get some feedback. While I am willing to dump comcast for another company I don’t want to feel pressured. So I finally told him no I am not doing it and to please leave.
What are your thoughts on clink and would it be better then comcast?

anonymeParticipantCeleste, I’ve been stuck with CLink for many years, and they are HORRIBLE. Beware of their bundled deals; they are designed to be completely confusing, with various aspects expiring on different dates, or jumping way up in price. They are devious, dishonest, and have the worst customer service on earth. The actual connection is not terrible, but be prepared to pay wildly different amounts than what you are quoted – without being able to do a damn thing about it. I have spent as long as 7 hours on the phone trying to resolve a simple issue with these freaks.
Also, I just got notification from my block watch that the door-to-door CLink reps may be frauds. Personally, I’d never buy anything that way – but especially not from CLink. There’s nothing bad enough I can say about them.

tttParticipantWe signed up for their new service and they sent someone out unannounced on a different day than I set up. I tried to call them to reset a new date as the unannounced date didn’t work (we were on our way out the door), and I got stuck on the phone for 2 HOURS, just trying to get the right person and just told them forget it. We were looking for something better than comcast and they we just as bad or worse for customer service. AWFUL.

anonymeParticipantOne more little rant about Century Link: they refuse to support ‘Nomorobo’ the winner of the FTC “no more robocall” challenge. Most other companies support this free service for their customers, but not Century Link. They screw their customers coming AND going, by charging you ridiculous fees, then selling your info to telemarketers – without allowing consumers to opt out. Nomorobo suggests calling CL and asking them to support the service, but anyone familiar with CL knows that calling this company is an exercise in futility. IMO, the FTC should force all telecom companies to offer the service to customers. Otherwise, what was the point?
End of rant.

SunuvaParticipantI live in Arbor Heights and these Clink door-to-door salespeople have come by our house a couple times this week. I’m actually VERY interested in the Gigabit Fiber service that has recently been installed in our neighborhood. That’s what they are selling and it sounds incredible compared to our current Comcast service. However, I do not appreciate being pressured into a sale at my door when I’m trying to eat dinner and feed our child. I asked if they had a brochure with information that I could review before I make a choice, but they had nothing. I asked for a business card and details on the deal but they just said they will come back another day. I asked if I can look up the details of the deal online and they told me the only way to get the deal is by signing up with them on the spot. Sorry, that doesn’t work for me! I really like to do my research before signing up for something that will affect my budget. This is not the right way to win my business, even though I’m actually very interested in the product. They have got to know people don’t appreciate this type of invasive high-pressure marketing contact, right? I guess not.
