Interesting, because I’ve thought a lot about wanting to cater holiday dinners since I don’t personally partake in holidays but love to cook and piece together a freelance living: best turkey you’ve ever had, 3-generation family oyster dressing recipe, best mash potatoes you’ve ever had, green rice casserole, homemade cranberry sauce (with a can on the side for the person who has to have the canned variety), crazy good spinach salad, 1970s style appetizers (think bacon-wrapped water chestnuts, and shrimp w/ Pick-a-Peppa, sautéed Brussels with pine nuts, stuffed mushrooms, bourbon pecan pie, peanut butter blossoms, and any kind of cheesecake you want, and of course any request with a practice run on my dime. … I should see about getting a food permit for this. That’s about $250 worth of ingredients for 10 people–would someone pay, say, $400 on top of that? Just curious if it would work …
