My wifes car is stalling when it is idle and I suspect it needs a tune up. I haven't ever needed to take a car to a repair shop in west seattle and I am looking for recomendations.

Its an 02 Mazda. The car runs great other than this issue and we had the batter and alternator checked so I am down to spark plugs/wires or timing.

    Thank you

  3. I suggest Dere at 35th and Barton. Fair, honest and not overly expensive.

If you search West Seattle Auto Works in the Forum (WSB sponsor)you'll find RAVE reviews! Honest, reliable and any other adjective you'd like to hear about the guy under your hood. They're on 35th and can be reached at 206 257 5344.

  5. Air Filter is a good suggestion.

2002 means probably fuel injected. Top of mind guess is Oxygen sensor went bad, or one of the other emission control components.

Some auto parts stores have the diagnostic computer and can get a diagnosis code from the engine computer (assuming it has one). Then you can get the part and replace it, if that's your inclination.

Not a bad idea to get some fuel injector cleaner either. 2 for 1 at O'Reilly in WC right now.

    Good luck!
