Can you Foster Kismet--the dog that was found injured, on the freeway?

Remember Kismet. The injured dog that was found by the side of the freeway? He needs a foster home because the one he is staying at only allows two dogs and Kismet makes three.

Kismet has had his surgery and is recovering nicely. [AARF's] Kismet's foster home does need to find a different foster home for Kismet to continue his recovery. They are only allowed two dogs and cute little Kismet has started barking (he has to stay in a crate so he doesn't move around a lot), to get the other two dogs attention.

Please see Kismet's video and request for a foster home at https://www.facebook.com/animalaidandrescuefoundation?ref=ts&fref=ts

Thanks again to every one that helped Kismet. Both AARF and F3 are forever grateful.

    Thanks for asking.

In re-reviewing the initial Facebook post, it appears that he didn't have mange:
--skin mites so bad that he'd lost most of his fur
    --a fungal infection
    --a urinary tract infection
    --a broken hip
    --starving

  5. What all goes into fostering a dog FF? If you are still looking for a foster family for Kismet that is...if it is just a willingness to help Kismet get better and healthy enough to adopt out then my family could probably do it. We have 3 dogs as it is, but we have a lot of room and lots of love and affection to give! Hammerhead knows our family so she can vouch for us :).

    Hi Andrea,

Thank you for asking. We know that Kismet will need to be kept quiet, calm and his ability to move around needs to be limited while his repaired hip continues to heal. This means that as much as he loves other dogs, he will need to be kept separated. He will also have to be transported to South Seattle Vet 2-3 times for the remaining injections he needs to receive.

Please contact AARF to chat with them. And thanks again for being interested in wanting to help this cute boy. Here is AARF's FB posting on Kismet:

  7. I just read that Ken might be able to help out with Kismet.... I've got two very active dogs or I would... I'm in love with him already! I could help out as babysitter, etc.

    Please keep us updated!

  12. Skin mites is another word for mange. What type is it? The contagious one or Demadex NON contagious one?

Yeah! Kismet went to his new foster home last night and it is purrfect for him! AARF Leader, Heather, was beaming as she described the husband 'n' wife that will be caring for Kismet. There is a very good chance that this will be one of those 'failed fosters'--meaning, Kismet most likely has found his new, loving, permanent home!

Big hugs to everyone that has helped Kismet!
