I can't imagine why people are still so blind as to insist that dogs don't have emotions...
What more proof do they need?
omg...i just bawled my eyes out at my desk watching that...so very sad and wonderful all at once...i don't doubt my youngest dog would try and do sucha thing should anything horrible like that happen to our elderly dog...he idolizes him so...thanks mellaw
how dare you make my dried up little heart cry real tears.
seriously, that was amazing.
now I have to go, there's something in my eye.
*sob*
So amazing.
Wow, amazing!
It reminds me of when my male Lhasa died a few years ago - the vet euthanized him at our house so that his female mate and the other dogs could also be there. Then we took him and buried him in the back yard. For the next few days, his mate would take his favorite toy outside in the morning and put it on his grave. At night, she would bring it in until the next morning. I cried every day watching that.
He died on New Year's and his mate is currently in kidney failure and probably will make it a few more weeks. Ironic if she goes at the same time of year - I know he will be on the other side of the rainbow bridge waiting for her. I've never seen two dogs more attached or devoted to each other - until this video surfaced today.
Amazing moments in life do happen, but to have them captured for all to see is priceless, even if they do make you cry.
