I couldn't imagine not having my black cat!
my sister used to have two black cats; continuing a family tradition*, she named them Aretha and Franklin ...
* my first pair of Siamese cats were named Sir Edmund and Hillary; the second pair were named Sophie and Tucker.
One of my friends who volunteered for a shelter up north made some bumper stickers that say "Adopt a black cat--they go with everything!" (So if you've seen that around on a black Prius, hi there!)
Ironically, my cat isn't black; he was a gift and I didn't get to pick what he looked like. I think my next one will be, though. That way, it'll go with most of my clothes. ;)
I've heard this before, and think it's because black animals don't photograph as well as other colors. These days so many people rely upon Petfinders or internet photos when making adoption choices. I met my black cat in person at PAWS 14 years ago, and she's an absolute sweetheart; clever, loving, and well-behaved. A perfect love.
My black would like to exclaim "THAT'S RACIST!"
Just met a wonderful, loving black dog at Hotwire Coffeehouse!
