I used to be a big fan of Metopolitan Market's produce, but lately it's been nasty! Safeway on Admiral is usually out of broccoli, and their cauliflower is meh. So I've been driving to Fred Meyer in Burien (of all places) that almost always has nice fresh veggies. Anyone have any tips for good produce closer to home?

  2. I usually buy produce at Thriftway or PCC. And, of course, the farmers market.

I buy most of my produce at Tony's Market on the corner of 35th and Barton. Really nice stuff there. (They're currently closed for a winter break but are supposed to open a week or two after the Superbowl). Otherwise, I go to PCC.

I only buy produce at PCC or the farmer's market.

  6. Of course I love the farmer's market, and growing your own is always wonderful too...

the QFC at Westwood does a pretty nice job with produce too though.

  7. My two cents:

When Tony's is open, that is the place to go for value and good produce. If you want "organic don't panic" PCC will quiet your qualms but it may not be cheap.

The WS Farmer's Market is great when we get local produce, and for now local is squash and potatoes.

When Tony's is closed I have noticed that QFC's produce is nice and fresh.
