Before/after school care, Gatewood Elementary

    I've just moved to W. Seattle & I'll have to kids going to Gatewood Elementary this fall. Does anyone have any advice regarding facilities and/or people that offer before and after school care for this area? Thanks

    Hi Kazzmere - I thought Gatewood had a Before and After school program onsite. My son went to preschool there, at the time the onsite program was called The Cottage School.

    My son had a bad experience at Cottage. He has had a fantastic experience in the before/after school program at Fauntleory Children's Center. It's a caring, child-centered program rather than a free-for-all rec center type of program. They also don't charge extra for the early dismissal and in-service days. A school bus picks them up and takes them to and from Gatewood, which I thought would be difficult for my kindergartener last year but it's very safe and he thinks it's fun to take the bus.
