Beached Narwahl at Lincoln Park

Just got back from a walk at Lincoln Park, and there's a crowd gathering over by Colman pool. Apparently a lost Narwahl has beached itself at the point, and folks are keeping it hydrated by pouring buckets of water on it. It's still alive, which is good, and they're waiting for help to arrive.

If you've never seen one of these creatures up close, now's your chance.

Seriously. This was a great opportunity for the first nice walk at Lincoln Park in April.

  5. Thanks for blowing it herongrrl...I always get "stung" on April Fools day! Not this year now that I've been reminded! Maybe I'll call my kids and April Fool them for a change! :)

My bad for misspelling Narwhal as "Narwahl" in the subject. That was the first sign this post was doomed from the start.

    Enjoy the snow.

I'm so glad other people aren't as gullible as me and pointed out this was a joke... I would have been leaving early to go see the whale! The arctic whale....

LL ~ Don't tease me! I have always wanted to see a Narwhal.

Heron ~ it didn't even occur to me that today is April Fools until your post.

Oh, hey, I've always wanted to see one too! But as an incurable naturalist geek I also know the odds of one washing up at Lincoln Park are, well, extremely slim on any OTHER day of the year, let alone today.

Now, the albino coyote sighted in Schmitz Park...that's a different story. ;)

    Luigilinguini,

You nearly fooled me on this one. I know we've had a chilly winter, and now spring, but to have an Artic mammal come south, come on, I'm new, but I wasn't born yesterday.

lazybeard - what an incredible coat of body hair you have! It's like a bodybeard.

For every one person that almost bit, there were 100 who didn't. April fools, my good man!
