Clowns Unlimited is a locally owned "FUN" provider of many things - they do the Westwood Street Fair every year and could certainly refer you to other things that may fit a carnival theme. Depending on your "crowd", for many years I did treasure hunts that are super fun - they get the kids running around and the end of course, is the treasure! (Party bags, cake/ice cream, whatever fits your time frame!) I've done them through the backyard or neighborhood with photos or hand drawings for non readers, and one year they hunted through the neighborhood all the way down to Gatewood where the party bags were "buried" and kids played til their parents picked up there. You can get really creative with the invitations and it was something that worked with both my son and daughter's parties. They're teenagers now and their friends still remember!! Have fun!

I agree with above - pirates are so popular now. Shop Oriental Trading and, depending where you live, you can create a treasure map to end at the boat (pirate ship) at Whale Tail Park. Have a parent waitng there with a treasure box filled with gold (chocolate) coins, mardi gras type beads etc. Less crowded would be Jack Block park - and the map could take them from parking lot down to sand area.

bsmomma - for future reference, I found a postcard for a company at Coffee to A Tea this week that notes they do "games, arts and crafts, characters, face painting, music, decorations, gifts" for events and occasions. Here's their info:
