Backyard Composter to recommend?

    Can anyone recommend a backyard composter other than the open kind? I'm thinking of buying this one...

    anyone have it and like it or hate it?

    I have a similar one (http://www.cleanairgardening.com/patdesaustum.html). It doesn't have the aeration system the one you posted does.

    Mine works well and is compact, the only disadvantage to the style is emptying it can be a chore. But I only have to do that once a year.

    I think this one looks good for what you want. Just make sure to keep it turned and still do what you would for an open compost system. Enough brown/green ratio and not to wet or dry. That way your compost will stay alive and keep flies down. I would also try to keep it in a shady part of the yard, or part of the yard that gets some shade during the day.
