DBurnsParticipantHey WSB Community – I find myself in need of a commuter car – nothing fancy, just reliable, safe and low on gas. Higher mileage is even probably okay and I don’t have a lot to spend. Just thought someone might have a car they were thinking about selling but thought, “No one will buy a car in December” – I will!!
Thanks,
Donna

squareeyesParticipantMy fiance is selling his vehicle:
2000 Toyota 4Runner SR5 4WD
Manual transmission

I think it gets around 20MPG.
If anyone is interested email ff_bjk at yahoo dot com.

DBurnsParticipantThanks for the response, Squareeyes! I will need an automatic so that my kids can use it too. I want everyone to learn how to drive a stick but they have not as of yet; largely due to the fact that there isn’t one to drive!! Also want to spend a little less; not much but more in the $3000 range.
Anyone???

StringCheeseParticipantPosting here on behalf of a good friend of mine in Columbia City. She is selling her Ford Focus. Here is the info:
2001 FORD FOCUS WAGON SE
98,000 miles
automatic transmission
front wheel drive
roof rack
air conditioning
new front brakes as of July 2013
He ain’t fancy, but less fancy = less to go wrong. Been wildly cheap to own, and has never needed a service that cost over $300. (I have all service records.) Seen by the mechanic within the last six months, and received a clean bill of health. The only issue which might require attention is the hatchback, as the “hydraulic” arms do not consistently hold the hatch up. (It’s my understanding that this is a pretty inexpensive fix, but the broom I use to hold it open costs nothing so I’ve never gotten around to doing the repair. Will throw in broom for free!)
He also ain’t particularly pretty, thanks to city living. The interior fabric is stain and tear-free, the paint is good and the body is rust-free — but there are the expected dings and scratches, as well as some damage to the driver’s side passenger door (which is not immediately obvious but is noticeable in a certain light and is visible in one of the attached photos).
This is an ideal car for hauling stuff around. The back seats fold down flat and the ceiling is quite tall, giving a very spacious cargo area. (I once moved a friend’s apartment in two loads.) I’ve hauled: lumber; about a cubic yard of bark chips; three little gem magnolia trees; and enough pavers and river rock to landscape my yard. Even with the back seats up, I had sufficient room in the cargo area to carry two 70 lb. dogs. So, if you are looking for a total workhorse of a vehicle that you can completely count on to get you and mass stuff from here to there, this is a great choice!
Photos are attached.
Current Kelly Blue Book value for this car in fair condition is $3450, and in good condition is $3875. I would place this car in the “good” category based on engine and “fair verging on good” based on exterior appearance.
my asking price: $3250

DBurnsParticipantThanks for the info! Pennidogg, what year is the Lumina? What kind of mileage does it get?
Happy Holidays!

pennidoggParticipantDBurns,
It’s a 1993 Lumina Z34 Coupe. Sorry I forgot to put the most important information. I’ll have to talk with my husband to find out the mileage, or you are welcome to call nine three three two zero nine six and talk with him.

bird87MemberI have an 89 Toyota Celica. Great car, reliable, has been running for a long time. Rebuilt motor and low miles (about 190k). I also have all the history as it has been in my family for over 16 years. I would keep it, but my boyfriend has too many projects. No space. It gets great gas milage, I’d guess 30 mpg on average or more. We’re asking $1200. It is an automatic also. Email me for more info robinnmartin@hotmail.com
