Anyone have a scanner going?

  1. There are helicopters hovering over Highland Park right now (6:20am Wednesday 25th)

My partner is going to be walking to work soon and we're hoping someone knows what's up so I can decide if I need to drive him in.

  3. Yeah, they're between Delridge and 20th, at about Trenton. Usually they grab wanted criminals around this hour of the morning, so I was thinking it might be that.

  4. There is some type of spill on Delridge.

  5. Thanks, Mr JT. That makes me feel better!

  7. Aim, cause of the spill was the end of a car chase.

  8. Lovely! I really wish they wouldn't chase people. Stolen cars are a huge problem, but they're not worth people's lives. Someday when I'm queen of the world... :)

Thanks again for the info. I need to get a scanner one of these days.

  9. Aim, have you tried this site? It doesn't give a whole lot of detail, but it's better than nothing.

  10. Yeah, that was the first place I checked. I saw a listing for an aid call on Delridge and Holden, but it was further away than where the helicopters appeared to be, and two helicopters for an aid call is just plain weird. However, with Mr JT's info, it now makes more sense. Plus my concern was whether or not to let soclwrkrinmotn walk to work. If they were looking for someone in our neighborhood I wasn't going to let him walk, as it wouldn't be safe. :)

Seeing this late and don't know if it's been re-opened, but we did hear on the radio traffic report this morning (about 7:20) that southbound Delridge was closed at Holden due to an "accident" and traffic was being detoured. After doing some quick mapping in our heads to see if we were going to miss it, we were discussing how WS never makes it into the traffic report!
