have you seen some of the rants on the blog lately? Methinks others just may be sharing your cranky vibe - but hey...at least you are not alone! =D

  3. Yes, but I'm jet-lagged and about to leave for my first day of work after two weeks' vacation, so I feel as though I have an excuse.

Hating this turn in the weather. While I wasn't thrilled with the high temps, at least there was sun! I've lived here my whole life and need the summer to keep me from going utterly batsh*t crazy. I dunno, looks like the crazy is gonna happen!

Dunno. Maybe it was the aspartame plus the heat. Feeling better now. Will stick with coffee for my caffeine!

  7. I think all of West Seattle should get the day after Summer Fest off. Maybe then we'd all be happy tomorrow.

I'm not exactly a bottle of joy today, either. I am using the day to do things I hate. This is my strategy on all bad days: revel in the murk by doing what you hate and would normally waste a perfectly good day doing, and eat a bar of chocolate. I am sick of the sun leaving, also. It's feast or famine.

Thanks for asking...because whining is good for the soul? Probably not, though. I don't know about you, but I'm supposed to list everything that is bright and beautiful, and for which I am grateful, and then I'm supposed to wish blessings, healing, and peace on everyone, especially those I resent, and then I'm supposed to meditate and ask God to remove my character defects, and also ask for Divine advice about how I can be a better person.

And if that isn't something to complain about, I don't know what is.

    :)

Yes and I'm not happy about it. I've lived in Seattle my whole life...I won't divulge the actually number years.

But when I hit 40 the weather began to really take a toll on my mood. And this spring and summer has been harder than normal. All I want to do is sleep and eat potatos.

AND then the heat wave was insane. But we all live here for days like Saturday and Sunday!

    Mike, TOTALLY!!! lol.

Are all of you all taking Vitamin D? SO important in our climate. Without exception, every single person I know who was test this year, came up highly deficient. Take your vitamin D!!!

  14. One of my coworkers has a sign up on her cubicle wall that says:

"I’m not allowed to whine about anything I can change, and since I can always change my attitude, I don’t expect a really hopeless situation in this lifetime."

I put one up in my cubicle too. Good thing to think about, especially as my best friend once gave me a mug that said "The more you complain, the longer God lets you live."

Sometimes just acknowledging crankiness is a way to downshift.

Sue: I love that - "the more you complain, the longer God lets you live." Just heard another comedic variation on the "only the good die young" theme - we can increase our lifespans by being nasty, come out of the house in the morning shouting at the neighbors' children "get out of here, you little #@$%%!!!" Quality, not quantity?

Ellenator's right about the Vitamin D deficiency. Most of us are way below normal.

Why are you cranky? Maybe because the Obama administration has decided not to give any more unemployed handout extensions?...lol

    Posted 1 year ago #
  20. actually,Jiggers, it's the Senate and the GOP that is doing that. Sorry to burst that bubble knocking the Obama Admin. Actually, it isn't only the GOP. Harry Reid, in his infinite wisdom, decided that they needed a vacation, so he sent them all on their way without finishing their work. And guess what? They get another vacation in August, right before Labor Day...that's the day we celebrate the laborers, the ones who they're not giving the unemployment bennies to. :-\
