alterations for fancy party dress

    I've seen threads on the forum about pants alterations, but I wanted to specifically ask for a recommendation on fancy dress alterations. I'm heading "back east" for a not-quite-black-tie wedding, and therefore need to get out of my Northwest Casual comfort zone and into a fancy dress. I found one I like, but of course it needs a little tweaking. I want to be sure I take this dress in to someone who can perform the alterations expertly. Thanks in advance for the help!

    I still recommend Mrs. Lee on California near Cafe Ladro. I have had her hem pants as well as alter dresses and jackets, and everything has been done well.

    Golden Thread - on California across from Cory Dry Cleaner. Always done on time and well, and have had positive experiences with fancy dress alterations.

    Mrs. Kim at Fits All Alterations on California next to West Seattle Kids did my formal dress for my brother's wedding. She's great!

    I second Golden Thread. I had a bridesmaid dress altered there, and she did a wonderful job. Also sent a friend from work there to alter a dress and jeans, she also had a great experience.
