nwgardeningParticipantI’ve added a section to my blog where I’m adding information relating to the proposed “Alki 11” – a rowhouse project 1/2 block from the beach. There are posts, videos and links that explain the issues involved and why local residents want to see the project redesigned. The page is a work in progress – I add more as we do research and more information comes to light. There’s a lot to cover! If you are interested in this project or West Seattle development in general, take a look http://www.whereiamnow.net/p/alki-rowhouse-controversy.html If you have information that would be helpful for other neighbors dealing with development issues, let me know. I will be adding information regularly as we prepare for our hearing with the city.
We citizens are at a disadvantage when these developments spring up, almost out of nowhere, right next to us. Things move fast and we don’t know what to do or how to respond. Sharing information will help us all up the learning curve. This is our neighborhood – we should have a say in what happens here.

Talaki34ParticipantWhat is the date and location for the meeting?
May 27, 2013 at 3:53 pm #790679
nwgardeningParticipantThe city hasn’t given us a date or location. The city planner says that it takes a while, up to a month or more, to get a meeting scheduled. I will post the date, time and location as soon as I know.

nwgardeningParticipantI just added information about the environmental impacts of this project: http://www.whereiamnow.net/2013/05/heres-where-things-get-serious.html If the parking issues don’t send this project back for redesign, these problems certainly should!
