Advice needed about videoing

Next Friday, February 17, I have arranged to be at a Boys and Girls Club to film children playing with toys I invented. The informal footage is to be part of a submission to a crowd funding site, but I don't know anything about simple cameras or camera phones or downloading the file for quick editing. Savvy advice would be greatly appreciated.

  2. Just check your lighting. Poor light or too much contrast cannot be corrected. I still go back to my old G5 mac for iMovie if I ever want to do video stuff. It is a bit slow so I presume a newer mac will do the job even better for you. I've never really found anything equivalent (cheap and user friendly) for my windows PC but I'm just a dabbler.

  3. Here is the software overview.

Tell us what kind of phone/cam you will be using and we can point ya at more detailed /relevant info. Also what OS software and version you will be using on the computer you want to edit on.

Some cameras come with video editing suites on the driver cd. Some cameras try to lock you into using their own software.

  6. We don't have the luxury of time or staff to edit so we shoot raw whenever possible. Depending on what you are doing, you might even consider that. Then all you have to do is trim - which can be done in Streamclip or whatever you use to process. Good luck!
