A warmed and happy heart....

  1. caused by the wonderful people in my community. This community came through for me in November, and I am most thankful. And now..this community is coming through for those less fortunate. Thank you everyone (you know who you are) who is helping to keep the people at Nickelsville warm and fed. No one should have to live in the conditions that they live in, yet they make it work, for the most part. Without the help of friends, their lives would be even worse. Just the latest, getting firewood for the camp, has been a daunting project, it seems. They burn through wood quickly, and, yet, more wood keeps being donated. Thank you to everyone...yet another reason why I love living in this little part of the world.

And, thanks to the people that are stepping forward for Ms. Furryfaces, Teri Emsley. The Feedback, BPP..again..a community that cares about it's people, and helps them out when they need it.

And, thanks to the editor of this blog for giving us the venue to facilitate all of these things. You have brought this community together in a wonderful way.

Now...back to our original programming :)

  2. I second that, Jan. It's nice to know I chose a community to live in that truly cares about each other when times are bad. Thank you, all.

  3. Thirding it.

Being an ongoing recipient of this great community's generosity, I sometimes feel at a loss how to continue to "verbalize" my gratitude.

So, I'll just give another huge "THANKS" for what this community has done for myself, my friends down at Nickelsville, Jan. Teri/F3, and the West Seattle community as a whole.

Whenever someone yells "help" here everyone is so fast to reply. I'm so glad there are so many nice people in our community. Nickesville has had so much donation type help yet it still keeps coming when an extreme need arises.

I know Mike speaks for everyone there, All are so apppreciative and thankful for everything.

  6. This is a good place to post this - I can't find the "impromptu blanket drive" thread anyway.

I have been spending a lot of time on school websites to make sure to get the newest information on closures.

Looking on the Our Lady of Guadalupe site tonight to confirm their closure tomorrow, since we hadn't received a direct announcement, I found this:

    http://guadalupe-school.org/news-events/newsletter/School_News/Entries/2012/1/19_Snow%2C_snow%2C_snow....html

I am certain she meant the forum.

I have explained this to people before, that even though there are relatively few post'ers (new ones coming in this week with the dramatically expanded readership for snow coverage), stats underscore that there are many more who read and seldom if ever post. (Same goes for news section comments.) So know that what you discuss does make a difference beyond anything immediate that you may see or hear.
