For those that posted on the original topic, my apologies for this duplicate, however, I somehow 'hid' the original from myself and cannot pull it up. Thanks again to everyone that has donated to Pearl so far. To Westcoastdeb, yes, kitty is still in need of donations--thank you for asking.

    Here is the original post:

    1. Pearl brings sunshine every day to her human. It's amazing how loving and sweet she is once one finds out she lives in constant pain--Pearl has in-grown eyelashes--which means her eye lashes constantly scratch her eye. Her person is on social security and cannot afford the corrective surgery.
Furry Faces Foundation, the Budkis Fund and Lien Animal Clinic have been collaborating to raise the funds for Pearl's eyelash surgery which will permanently eliminate this condition and we are just $200 away from having enough money to perform this surgery, AND while she is under, she will receive much needed dental care.
If you would like to help our financially restricted client with Pearl's surgery costs, we would all be grateful. Just give Lien Animal Clinic a call @ 206-932-1133, asking to donate to 'Pearl--Under Furry Faces Foundation'.
Thank you for considering our request for assistance. Cheers, F3

Oops forgot to answer JanS' question, which was:
'It occurred to me...was Lien the only clinic that could do this surgery? I know that many go to South Seattle Vet because it's cheaper. Are/were SSV not equipped to take care of this? Just curious..."

Jan, thank you for your question. We have excellent partnerships with both Lien Animal Clinic and South Seattle Vet. Decisions on where surgeries are performed are made on a case by case basis, involving various factors.

This eyelash removal surgery is most often performed by a Specialist, however, based on the diagnosis and the way these eyelashes are ingrown, Lien Animal Clinic is able to perform the surgery at a savings of hundreds of dollars. While Pearl is under, it also made sense to have her much needed dental performed. That way she doesn’t have to be put under twice, and we do not have to pay for redundant surgery procedures and post-op care such as anesthesia, pain meds, etc.

Hope your kitty is doing well. Cheers, F3

How much closer are you to the big number for Pearl's cat? In dollars?

Hunter, Thank you for requesting and update. We are $125.00 away from having enough to cover Pearl's surgery. Cheers, F3

Is there a way to donate online?

Hi westcoastdeb, thanks for the question!

This is on our list of things to implement on our website so it is easier for people to support. We are having a meeting on Sunday, so will see if we can push it to the top of our list.

In the meantime, either calling Lien Animal at 932-1133 (they are happy to take debit/credit cards over the phone)or dropping off cash at their Clinic; or if one prefers, writing a check and mailing it to 3809 46th Ave SW, 98116, are the three methods available to help Pearl.

Thank you for your question and for reminding us that we need to get online donations in place. Cheers, F3

Thanks Big Red! AND BIG THANKS to everyone that contributed to Pearl's surgery! All of you made it possible to fully fund her eyelash surgery and dental--which is now scheduled for this Wednesday. YEAH!!! We will let you know how it goes.

Her human, Judith, agreed to and wants to, pose for a photo with Pearl (sometime after her eye surgery), so everyone can meet Pearl ‘virtually’. We will post their photo on our website for all of you to see. Judith is both touched and amazed at your generosity, and so are we. Thank you for helping Pearl and Judith. Cheers ‘n’ hugs, F3
