10 West Seattle trinkets/treats

  1. Next week is my ten-year anniversary at work. The tradition is to bring ten pounds of something or something in multiples of ten to celebrate (and get your coworkers to visit you).
As a relatively new West Seattle resident, I was thinking it would be fun to bring ten kinds of West Seattle-oriented treats and make everyone who doesn't live here envious.
Here's what I came up with, but I would LOVE your suggestions. Each item (or serving) should cost about a dollar.
    -Bacon-y sweets from the Swinery
    -Cupcakes from Sugar Rush
    -Treats from Bakery Nouveau
    -Cookies from our kitchen
    -Exotic candy from Husky
    -Growler from Elliot Bay
    -Lip balm from Pharmica
    -Cupcakes from Cupcake Royale
-Stickers (or something) from NW Art and Frame
    -A pie from Shoofly

    Whaddaya think?

WS paraphernalia from Alki Mail and Dispatch? (Might be more than a dollar though.) Coffee beans or a to-go coffee dispenser from Java Bean. Rocks from Alki Beach (if you don't really like your co-workers that much.)

I think you should take a plate of bacon from the Swinery, or the bacon caramels, or bacon shortbread... mmmmmmm BACON!

  6. Gosh - as a lifer of West Seattle - some of these places are so new they don't seem like West Seattle to me (yet!). How about a trinket from JF Henry or chowder from Charlestown Cafe, flowers from Sharon's Westwood Florist. Guess I'm thinking old school West Seattle...but on the other hand.... now I want bacon!

  7. Thanks everybody!
Here's what I ended up with:
    •Cookies from Bakery Nouveau
•Cat toys and dog treats from Next to Nature
    •Mini cupcakes from Sugar Rush
•Handmade stickers from Twilight Artists’ Collective
    •Cookie cutters from J.F. Henry
    •Dried peaches from Eat Local
•Bacon chocolate chip cookies from the Swinery and our kitchen
    •Lip balms from Pharmaca
    •European chocolates from Husky Deli
•And, finally, to be unveiled in the afternoon, a growler from Elliot Bay Brewing

My coworkers (at a very fun large software company in Redmond) have been very appreciative.
