However, naptime might be a great time to get a babysitter.... Our primary target audience is more the 10-and-up gamers, although we'll have some things available for younger attendees.

Ooh, Irukandji--we also found spare Scrabble tiles useful, and needed more (we use them a lot when the Sunday Puzzle includes an anagram.) You can sometimes scrounge from old Scrabble sets at garage sales, Goodwill, etc., but we wanted lots. Turns out you can order spare sets from http://www.hasbro.com/customer-service/orderform.cfm?sku=4024

Naptime usually sets in about then, but I'd love to bring my kid by to share his newfound love of Hi Ho Cherry-O with the community. We've managed to loose a few cherries over time, so if you have an(y) extra, let me know!
.
We are also playing a lot of 'Is THAT a word?' with spare Scrabble tiles.
.
Help me.

One more try, and then I'll let it go:

If you’re interested in the Board Game afternoon, but this time just doesn’t work for you, or there’s something else about it that doesn’t work for you (lack of childcare? location? something else?), please let us know!

If you like to play board games, but something about this doesn't appeal to you (doesn't sound like your kind of board games? age range?), we'd like to know what.

If you think you MIGHT be coming, but don't want to decide until the last minute, we'd like to know that, too--just let us know you're not committed to coming.

We’d thought of doing board game gatherings occasionally, but need to know whether the interest is there….

"Friends of Southwest Branch Library invite all ages of board game enthusiasts, casual players, and anyone interested in learning a board game to our first Board Game Afternoon, Sunday, October 11th from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m. in the meeting room upstairs at the branch (9010 35th Ave. S.W.)

Members of the Friends plan to bring a variety of board games and will be available to assist with learning to play them. If you have a board game (or games) you’d like to play or teach, please feel free to bring it (or them).

Families with children old enough to enjoy board games are welcome; we request that parents consider their child(ren)’s temperament in deciding whether they would enjoy this event, and plan to attend with their child(ren).

No child care is available with this event.

To let us know you’ll be attending, or for questions, please contact us at swt-friends@wlonk.com.

Drop-ins are welcome, but we can plan better if we know you’re coming!"
