Mel, Get some sleep while you can. And then go pet some animals and get that warm fuzzy feeling going. And then sit with some sugar free cocoa and dream about staying in a nice warm house with your feet up on the table and the animals all curled about you. And then think about hearing a shed door clanking and you being locked out of the house. LOL Me Bad.

Met many nicefolks on our sled run here on Gatewood.
Longest sled, ski, and snowboard run I've found is Frotnac on Gatewood hill. Must be about 275 vertical.

BTW: Our yard has 15" and getting deeper. This snow event ranks right up with what I can remember
about New Years 1969 or was it 68. I was a tad pole, but do recall a huge snow storn around New year.

I've been really, really cranky with people the last 48 hours - this snow has not been fun or happy for me. Part of it is because I haven't had time to have fun because of work, and after every stop I have to dig myself out all over again. I'm pretty exhausted.

I'll try to be nicer to people tomorrow.

P.S. - I do have to say thanks to those people here on the blog who have been so kind and generous as to invite me to stop during my rounds for some hot chocolate and food if I need it. That does give me the warm and fuzzy feeling:)

I love how neighbors come out into the streets to talk, how children who have never met suddenly start sledding together, and how people passing by say hello I know that people not from here talk about the "Seattle chill" but I just don't feel it - what I feel is the incredibel warmth of this community.

I'm loving the warm fuzzies too! Seattle folk are almost inhumanly nice in the following conditions: a) more than 2 inches of snow and freezing and b) the first sunny day of any summer with temps above 75. Those are just the guaranteed ones :)

To the guy that offered me a ride a few blocks closer to home...thank you.

I told you in person, but want others to know as well, that your generousity is appreciated. It took ten minutes off the walk and let me warm up a bit too.

Happy Holidays.
