Pemco is great if you have a good driving record and treat you well if you have an accident. Hated Farmer's. Family member had an at fault accident (her fault) and they never paid the other party claim. Next thing you know, family member is being sued for subrogation claim. After call to insurance commissioner, they paid. (All info given to agent at time of accident).

Hated Pemco. Always raising rates. Terrible customer service. If you make a claim, they adjust the premium until you've paid back what they paid out.

State Farm employees at their claims adjustment office stole everything from the interior of my car. (friend was driving it, was towed directly to their facility before I could get my stuff). They told me without pictures or receipts to prove what was in it, I'm out of luck. They also would not let me keep/swap out my aftermarket wheels on a totaled car. Always wondered which employee ended up with those. Then of course, gave me less money than I owed on the car.

Have now been with David Carlson Insurance (safeco) forever. Love him. Seriously. Nicest guy ever. Home and auto and my rates have gone down.

Re: USAA--unfortunately, you have to qualify through someone being in the military. And though both of my parents were in the military, they never carried USAA coverage, so I'm not eligible.

Try State Farm. I switched to them after I was hit by someone who carried that insurance. They treated me very fairly. I wanted that type of representation. Stay as far away from Oregon Mutual as you can

I highly recommend USAA. You have to have some military Officer affiliation (or legacy) to qualify for membership. They do offer great auto/home insurance rates and fantastic banking opportunities.

Good luck!

Hiya VBD! WE carry Safeco Insurance through Magnolia Insurance Agency and have for years. Many reasons for Safeco AND making sure you have adequate coverage for all the crappy things that can happen on the road is so important. We've been happy with Mag Ins service, but I'm sure that a good sit-down appointment with a reputable WS agent (sponsor even) would be worth your while.

You know where to find me. I do hope you are healing well.

Personally, i think the best thing you can base your decision on is feedback from folks who have good things to say about their insurance company AFTER they have filed a claim. i've been with Pemco for years but have never had to file (except for windshields). knock on wood. i think i didn't consider geico because i wanted to bundle my house and car with one company and geico didn't do that at the time.

I would recommend State farm... Me and my husband go to the Burien office. He pays $112 a month for a dodge dakota ( even with a claim and a few tickets) and I pay $66 a month for full coverage on A Jeep grand cherokee and im still under 25, previously i was with allstate and i was paying $148 a month for less coverage.... so I think state farm is the way to go... they are very friendly its the Brett Bakken office 206-244-2522 Tell them the Overgaard's recommended them!!! Good luck.... oh and they do our renters insurance for $20 a month!

Call Tom and SeaMountain View Insurance: http://www.sea-mountain.com/insurance-glossary/dyn

He hooked me up with Liberty for house and car and I've had two claims with them, was very happy with the response to both. Prices are far less than Pemco and Geico

Looking for a new insurance group to cover my car. Seems that "you get what you pay for" doesn't really work in the insurance realm. Currently leaning toward Grange based on a recommendation from a friend, but looking at Pemco as well. Online reviews seem to be 50/50 positive and negative for each, so I'd like to hear from folks around here about what groups are working well for them. Thanks!
