I don't know about hypertension specifically, but, generally speaking, I highly recommend Lindsey Lawson as an acupuncturist. I've been seeing her in her Madison Valley office for about 5 years, and just found out she just opened a satellite office in West Seattle!!

She's got great bedside manner, offers years of experience and lots of great little touches that make the experience therapeutic on several levels!

Here's her info:
Lindsey Lawson MSAOM, L. Ac.
Licensed Acupuncturist, Chinese Herbalist

I'd like to chime in for Elyce Tajima. I just started seeing her for sciatica and she is very good. She is an excellent listener, is not a zealot, is well rounded, gentle, and very knowledgeable about all areas of wellness. I have been very impressed with her. She is in the junction right by EBBP. I have seen a lot of these acupuncture threads on here and would venture to say that we are lucky to have several good providers in West Seattle.

Also, if cost is an issue, you can try communichi. I haven't been yet but it is supposed to be very reasonable.

Also try mindfulness mediation and yoga for lowering blood pressure. Not sure of the difference in "drug resistant" and regular but I have had success with these.

Paul Nojaim of West Seattle Acupuncture is superb! He has been treating me for a number of things for 3 years now. I am healthier than I have ever been. He is very serious about his practice and has taken the time to travel to China to be trained by the masters. I HIGHLY recommend him.

Here's a repeat of what I posted last time this came up -- Miranda helped the bob half with high BP knee pain and helped me with excruciating (bone on bone) pain.

"Miranda Taylor is an exceptional acupuncturist in West Seattle. I had not done any kind of acupuncture before I met her — and now I depend on her and so does Bob.

I haven't used acupuncture for hypertension, but have had surprisingly (I was a bit skeptical when I started three years ago) good results for other issues, including jaw pain.

I think Cristina Lang is terrific. She takes a lot of time understanding you and your condition/s before implementing solutions.

Acupuncture can definitely help with hypertension. I haven't had high blood pressure myself but have treated it in animal patients.

My favorite human acupuncturists in West Seattle are
Ellen Newhouse http://www.ellennewhouse.com/ 938-8441 (in west seattle even though her website says Queen Anne.
Molly Connelly http://www.seattlepointjoint.com/ 200-3467

I have been going to Ellen for about seven years and love her work and although I have never been to Molly she is the main person I refer my human clients to. Everyone I have sent to her has raved about her work.
