Gobble Gobble Thanksgiving Group Run @ Tully's on Alki
Nov 23 @ 9:00 am

From West Seattle Runner (WSB sponsor):

Come meet up for a Thanksgiving Day Group Run. We will meet at the Tully’s on Alki at 9 am. We will go for a group run, all paces and distances welcome. This is not a race, but just a group run. This is a great way to start of the day of feasting, with a little calorie burn. Since it is also a nice time to give to others, as we count our blessings, folks can bring food donations for the West Seattle Food Bank. This year, you also have the option to donate to a charity via our West Seattle Track Friday event.

West Seattle Track Friday @ Hiawatha Playfield
Nov 24 @ 9:00 am – 11:00 am

P3|Running and West Seattle Runner are excited to bring Track Friday to West Seattle!

Track Friday is a community-based movement to mobilize people to support charitable giving. Participants run laps on a nearby track to raise awareness and funds for causes that they care about. Track Friday is held the day after Thanksgiving to encourage people to reunite with old and new friends, burn off some Thanksgiving Day calories, and put a little love and giving spirit back into a day that has become synonymous with commercialism.

Michele Pettinger‘s (the owner of P3|Running) mom is suffering from Parkinson’s Disease and Michele will be raising money for the Michael J. Fox Parkinson’s Research Foundation that day. She is driven to not only help fundraise for this disease that there is still so much to learn about, but to support families and loved ones that are moving through this disease together.

Michele understands that you may have a charity that you feel strongly about, so you are able to fundraise for your chosen charity on Track Friday as well!

We will be at Hiawatha Track and Playfield the morning after Thanksgiving from 9 to 11. Invite your friends and family to join – walk 1 mile, 10 minutes, 10 miles, 2 hours, whatever you feel driven to do! Check in with our table to log your miles! We will have hot chocolate, coffee, and some treats, too.

For anyone who participates in the event, 10% of your purchases at West Seattle Runner that day will be donated to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. Simply pick up a token from our table at the park to present at the store when purchasing.

8th Annual Christmas Light Run @ West Seattle Runner
Dec 16 @ 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm

From West Seattle Runner (WSB sponsor):

Saturday Dec 16th at 6:30 pm. Meet at West Seattle Runner:

Bring your family, bring your friends, bring your lights and reflective gear! It is a festive, easy 3ish mile run to look at lights. We are still hoping one year we will have someone organize caroling! Anyone!? (This elf is tone deaf so looking for help on this) We will find a route with good light displays and try for minimal hills, no promises, it is West Seattle. Kids and strollers are welcome, dogs at your own discretion, Myrtle is sitting it out. Just remember a headlamp because our sidewalks can be rough. We also ask you stay on the sidewalk and not run in the streets. This is an easy paced group run, not a race, plan your week’s workouts accordingly. Walkers are encouraged. Afterwards we will have treats, socializing and drinks back at the shop. We have someone special to celebrate this year as this takes place 2 days before Tim’s 50th birthday! Come and toast our fearless leader!
